“I learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind him, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.”

buildgreenworld.com’s “Three E” Foundation

ECONOMY   EQUITY ECOLOGY

buildgreenworld.com is not merely a web site. Guided by ideas, not ideologies, BGW is a for-profit, eco-entrepreneur venture whose principle guidelines stem from “Natural Capitalism”. Modifying the traditionalist capitalistic model, BGW also takes into account the values of natural systems and resources. BGW’s approach and awareness to its every action, from its development, operations, and management to its internal and external relationships, is founded on the balanced synthesis of economy, ecology, and equity (the “Three Es”).

With Economy being the first “E” in its tri-legged approach, BGW believes in a approach to economy which uses man’s inherent desire for self sufficiency to grow and become a successful driving force for transformation by playing a role in conscious, sustainable innovation in real estate, energy and product development.

Economy and capitalism, however, can no longer take a uni-polar, antiquated “fundamentalist free-market” stance without factoring in its impact on the second “E” in BGW’s approach, the Environment. With ever increasing awareness and evidence of the rapidly deteriorating state of the planet’s health due to humanity’s unchecked actions, it is both unethical and financially short-sighted to establish a business model that does not have a more developed awareness of its environmental impact through its operations and actions.

BGW’s actions and decisions are additionally guided by the third “E” in its mandate, Equity. Without consideration of the company’s impact on various social levels, from inter-company human relations to active corporate participation in global social equity initiatives, BGW may fall short of becoming a long-term viable option in a rapidly changing corporate environment. Social factors such as fair pay, fair trade, and express and active support of local and global diversity must play a central role in BGW’s decision making process. BGW will donate 5% of its profits to environmental foundations chosen by both BGW and user input.

COMMUNICATION   CULTURE    CREATIVITY

In addition to BGW’s “Three E” foundation, buildgreenworld.com’s vision additionally incorporates Communication, Culture, and Creativity in its “Three C” principle.

The three principal elements in both the “Three E” and “Three C” approaches are symbolically represented by the three leaves in the BGW logo.

buildgreenworld.com’s “Three E” and “Three C” Approach to Green Building and Green Energy

“Although the momentum of damage and exploitation continues to accelerate in both the social and environmental arenas, the activity addressing it is increasing exponentially and has broken out of its traditional institutional boundaries. Emblematic of this shift is the growth of social entrepreneurship, which refers to activists, who use entrepreneurial methods to address systemic social problems. Social entrepreneurs are innovative risk takers who use ideas, resources, and opportunities to tackle problems and produce social benefit.”

Paul Hawken, Blessed Unrest

Incorporating its “Three E” and “Three C” approach, buildgreenworld.com aims at becoming an active “portal for transformation” on various levels.

BGW aims at facilitating the transformation of for-profit corporations by transforming how business is done on an environmental, social and economic platform.

BGW aims at the transformation of urban development into a modern, sustainable and enjoyable life and lifestyle.

BGW aims at the transformation of the internet into a more open-source, user-participatory, visually and technologically advanced tool.

BGW aims at the transformation of how we see and develop the green movement from a cool fad, into a permanent lifestyle transformation and mental paradigm shift in sustainability in human awareness.

BGW aims at refocusing the negative and limiting philosophical approach of the popular green mantras such as “reduce, reuse, and recycle” into a more expansive, colorful, artistic, optimistic view of sustainable abundance.

BGW aims to transform how we discover, apply and transform “Energy”, both physically and metaphysically. Energy being the “silent” fourth E in the “Three E” approach, BGW seeks to transform our old, dirty and environmentally destructive reliance of fossil fuel energy to the use of clean, cutting-edge energy technology.

Ultimately, BGW aims at the transformation of our world through the transformation of ourselves, the individual. If there is no development of self-awareness in the individual, the goals for collective transformation may not come to pass, or may take exponentially longer to materialize. Through the integration of economy, ecology, equity, and community, communication and creativity, BGW aims at impacting the way users question their own actions and decisions, and ultimately aiding in the transformation of a paradigm shift in our personal consciousness.
